Next Realty Midwest LLC Appoints Richard Kwasneski as Salesperson
Northbrook, IL (April 9, 2007) – Next Realty announces the appointment of Richard “Rick” Kwasneski as salesperson. In his new role, Kwasneski will help Next build relationships with investors, development companies and public entities seeking land development opportunities.
“Rick brings a wealth of experience in development, government, transportation and planning to Next,” said Andy Hochberg, managing broker and principal, Next Realty LLC. “His years of public service as mayor of Lemont and as a director at numerous planning and transportation agencies will provide our business with a strategic advantage.”
Prior to joining Next, Kwasneski was executive director of the Joliet Arsenal Development Authority, an Illinois state agency created to facilitate the redevelopment of the former 3,000-acre ammunition plant and arsenal. Kwasneski was instrumental in creating successful public-private development partnerships at the site, including the CenterPoint Intermodal Center, ProLogis Park Joliet Arsenal and the International Union of Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Training Center. The former arsenal now is considered a model for military base redevelopment.
Kwaskneski will continue to serve as chairman of PACE, the Suburban Bus Division of the Regional Transportation Authority of northeastern Illinois. He has been a commissioner of the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC) since 2002 and is a member of the Chicago Area Transit Study (CATS) Intermodal Task Force.
Kwasneski will also continue to serve as a director of the Will County Center for Economic Development (CED) and as a member of its Airport Task Force, as well as the Illinois Brownfield Association’s Government Affairs Committee.
Kwasneski’s previous public service experience includes serving as mayor of Lemont, Ill., following his term as a village trustee. He also has served as chairman of the Heritage Corridor I-355 Planning Council, director of the Workforce Development Council of Will County, and director of the Will County Governmental League, where he was also chairman of the Government Affairs Committee.
Kwasneski holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lewis University and is an Illinois licensed real estate salesperson. He has been a member of the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, the Southwest Council of Local Governments, the Southwest Council of Mayors and the Three Rivers Manufacturers Association’s governmental affairs committee.
