Big Lots Leases 28,000 Square Feet in Hobart, Indiana
NORTHBROOK, IL (September 9, 2009) – Next Realty, LLC, announced that Big Lots has finalized a lease for 28,000 square feet in its Sports Authority Center in Hobart, Indiana. The closeout retailer will join Sports Authority and Chicago Home Fitness in the 84,000 square-foot center located at the intersection of East Lincoln Highway (Highway 30) and Colorado Street.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Big Lots to our center,” said Tracey Fitzgerald, Next Realty’s director of leasing. “It’s going to be a strong tenant mix; Big Lots and Sports Authority will play off each other well.”
The new store is a relocation for Big Lots from its Merrillville location at 61st Avenue and Broadway, situating them on Lincoln Highway in the strong Hobart/Merrillville retail corridor. The lease brings The Sports Authority Center to full capacity. The grand opening date for the new store has not yet been released.
Currently, the $350 million Next Realty portfolio consists of retail and parking properties nationwide; with approximately 1.0 million square feet of retail space and 8,200 parking spaces under management.
